Current and Upcoming Events: Ed Lazzeroni: Works on Metal

The show will include landscapes in various seasons, seascapes depicting water and sky, and still lifes
painted in an impressionistic style on sheets of copper (or occasionally aluminum) instead of canvas.
Combining a background in industrial design with fine art training, Ed Lazzeroni has mastered a variety
of unusual techniques: he grinds, etches, and torches the copper sheets, and he uses a palette knife
and squeegee as well as a brush with the acrylic paint. The reflective quality of the metal provides the
viewer with an opportunity to interact with the artwork in a kinetic way, as the copper highlights change
depending on how a piece is lighted or the angle from which it is viewed.
