Kathyanne White
Kathyanne White creates textile collages using her own hand-dyed fabrics
that she cuts, assembles and machine-stitches onto canvas. Inspired by nature, the imagery ranges from silhouetted
tree limbs against a desert sky to abstract variations on a leaf motif.
The artist's textiles have been shown in numerous juried exhibitions including Quilted
Constructions: The Spirit of Design at the Museum of American Folk Art,
New York (followed by a two year international tour), and Fine Fiber: Art
for the 21st Century at SOFA Chicago 2001. Her piece Rambunctious was accepted into the permanent collection of
the American Craft Museum, New York, and will be shown during 2002 in the exhibit Six
Continents of Quilts: The American Craft Museum Collection. The artist has
works in many private and public collections including the First American Discount Corporation, Chicago; St. Francis
Hospital, Evanston, IL; and Los Abrigados Resort, Sedona, AZ. |
